ABOUT COFFEE CO
CoffeeCo was established in 1983 as one of the first coffee shops in the Lancaster area. Over the years the business has changed but the one constant has always been the incredible coffee.
The current owners, John & Heidi Smucker, are the fourth owners of CoffeeCo. They purchased the business in 2015 with their partners at the time and have worked to build on the great foundation that was previously built.
John and Heidi enjoy traveling, dining out and spending time with their grandchildren. Their goal with CoffeeCo is to make Lancaster county (and beyond!) a better place to live by providing great jobs, excellent food & drink, and exceptional service.
Meet our Leadership Team
Shannon Kann – New Holland
Shannon joined our team in 2024 and jumped into management at New Holland. Shannon has brought organization, strong leadership and dance parties to his team!
After hours Shannon loves to spend time with his French bulldogs. He also enjoys running and crossfit training. In 2024 Shannon ran a full marathon!
Shannon’s favorite CoffeeCo item is our homemade croissants. He loves working at CoffeeCo because of the people, both customers and employees. They make work fun!
Dawn Plaisted – Lancaster
Dawn stands as a seasoned member of the CoffeeCo team, joining us in 2018. She was one of our best grill cooks and quickly advanced into management. Her all around experience makes her a great leader!
Outside of work Dawn enjoys spending time with her husband and family. She enjoys watching their grandkids grow and thrive in the world.
Her favorite CoffeeCo item is our delicious Lemon Blueberry Pancakes. A perfect way to start the morning before a big rush!
Dawn’s favorite part about her job is the team. She loves getting to know them, helping them grow inside and outside of work.
Preston Hunter – Landisville
Preston joined our team in 2022 as a part time dishwasher. He quickly became more involved and became an assistant manager. Preston went from dishwashing to making lattes to now managing CoffeeCo Landisville!
Preston enjoys spending time with his fiance, friends and family. His most enjoyed hobbies are outdoors! Preston regularly goes hunting and fishing outside of work.
His favorite CoffeeCo item is the Meat Lovers Bowl, because it has heaps of protein and is sure to fill you up for a long shift!
Preston loves working with his team at Landisville. He loves that they impact each other inside and outside of work. He believes the bond his team shares makes the work days fun and enjoyable!
Jeffrey Wheeler – Lititz
Jeffrey joined our team as a grill cook in 2024 and made a swift leap into management. Jeffrey enjoys coming up with new menu ideas!
After hours Jeffrey likes to read books and journals. He also loves to cook for his family.
Jeffrey’s favorite CoffeeCo item is a breakfast burrito because it fuels him for a busy day!
He loves working at CoffeeCo because of his team and the opportunity to serve the community.
Fer Carpinteyro – Millcreek
Fer joined our team in the fall of 2022 all the way from Texas! He brings fun, energy and organization to our team.
Outside of work Fer loves to spend time with his family, play board games, host cook outs, and go camping with his kids.
Fer loves to enjoy a CoffeeCo Steakwich along with a sugar free French vanilla latte. These CoffeeCo essentials keep him going.
Fer loves to work at CoffeeCo because he gets to bond with his team and help them be their best selves. He prides himself in the great camaraderie at his cafe.
Kylie Hodge – Director of HR & Marketing
Kylie joined our team as a barista in 2022, and she moved swiftly into management at our Lititz location. New opportunities arose in 2024 and Kylie joined the CoffeeCo corporate team.
Outside of CoffeeCo Kylie loves to spend time with her four legged friends. She also enjoys learning about personal health and wellness.
Kylie’s favorite CoffeeCo item is an iced dirty vanilla chai. She loves working at CoffeeCo because of the growth opportunities and good culture. Kylie also loves creating long lasting relationships with the teams and guests.
Cody Yoder – Director of Operations
As the esteemed Director of Operations at CoffeeCo, Cody boasts an impressive 20+ year journey within the company. Starting when it was a single shop family business, he worked hard to help evolve it into a thriving enterprise with enduring familial roots.
After hours Cody enjoys spending time with his family, woodworking and software development. His dynamic hobbies bring great ideas to the team.
Cody’s favorite CoffeeCo item is our Steak bowl. He loves how much protein it has to keep him energized throughout the day.
